Nominate BrightSparks before 28 February

They are stalwarts Clive Couldwell (group editor, Electronics Weekly), Graham Curren (CEO, Sondrel),  Paul Hide (techUK’s director of market engagement and membership,) Isabella Mascarenhas (vice-president for Grass Roots & Shining Stars at RS Components) and Lindsley Ruth (CEO at RS Components).

Joining them for the first time this year will be David Lakin (IET’s head of education for 5-19 year-olds), Steph McGovern  (journalist and TV presenter), Adam Rees-Leonard  (UK Naval Engineering Science & Technology (NEST) – chair of science & technology) and Lizzie Truett  (IET’s young professionals engagement manager).

Now in its third year, the EW BrightSparks programme is searching for engineers under the age of 30 who work or study in the UK who have shown that they have the potential to shape UK electronics in the years to come.


The ambition of the EW BrightSparks programme is celebrate the success of young people in the industry and to inspire and encourage new entrants to a career in electronics.
